It is a daunting challenge to sustain development and ensure human welfare in a poverty-ridden country like Bangladesh having limited resources, ever increasing population, rising man-land ratio, decreasing natural resource base, increasing environmental degradation and natural disasters. BCHWSD is a non-governmental and non-profit organization of Bangladesh (registered under the Social Welfare Department) aiming to resolve theses issues. It provides services in the area of poverty alleviation, rural development, education, coastal resources development, environmental protection, conservation of bio-diversity and management of ecosystem. It also provides health care, housing, sanitation, and water supply facilities for the poverty stricken people (including children, women, elderly, sick and disabled) of Bangladesh. Furthermore, this NGO undertakes projects and studies in areas of policy research and analysis, institutional development, technology transfer, information technology, appropriate technology, and training.
