Current services of BCHWSD The focus of BCHWSD is the coastal belt in the Southwestern Region of Bangladesh. It is run by eminent scholars, intellectuals, and social activists of Bangladesh. BCHWSD has already undertaken a number of works in Khulna Region many of which are in progress (e.g. micro credit for rickshaw pullers and small entrepreneurs, road side plantation, social forestry, relief for the disaster affected people, cage aquaculture, education for the elderly, computer education for the poor children, awareness campaign to prevent and mitigate AIDS/HIV, treatment and screening for HIV/AIDS, detecting Arsenic contamination of ground water and treatment for patients suffering from Arsenicosis, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and various infectious diseases). Current services of BCHWSD are:
· Rural development and poverty alleviation · Fisheries resources development and support for fishermen community · Disaster mitigation and relief work· Education, healthcare and awareness building · Energy, information technology and communication · Children’s education and support· Support for the disabled, elderly and sick · Architectural Conservation and Urban Planning

6. Microfinance programme of BCHWSD to support small entrepreneurs of Khulna.
